When I think about the cool stuffs in my
life, the first thing that appears on my mind would be the internet. Why
internet? For me, it eases me to do something. For example, when I want to send
a letter, I no longer need a piece of paper, a pen, an envelope or a stamp.
Just write what I want to write and send it by e-mail. I can minimize the time,
and money. You can do many things by using internet. When you look for some
information, you can use the internet. Internet has become a familiar thing for
most people.
But what is the internet?
The Internet is named for
"interconnection of computer networks”. It is a global system of
interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet protocol suite
(TCP/IP) to link several billion devices worldwide. It is a network of networks
that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and
government networks, of local to global scope, that are linked by a broad array
of electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies. The Internet
carries an extensive range of information resources and services, such as the
inter-linked hypertext documents and applications of the World Wide Web (WWW),
the infrastructure to support email, and peer-to-peer networks for file sharing
and telephony.
Maybe some of you think that internet is only for entertainment. But it is more than that. There's so many things about internet that we could never imagine. But what benefits we can earn from internet in
educational side?
There are several ways in which the internet
helps education. It makes education very accessible in that students can have
access to a lot of information and learning materials. By using the internet also saves time for the students,
making education and learning to be more time efficient. Internet also can help teachers in adding
acknowledge, getting teaching references, etc. For full information: here
Teaching and learning activity is not only happening in a classroom, but it also can be done everywhere, including through internet. Here’s the example about teaching and learning through internet. The video is about a live English lesson with a native speaker on Skype. Check out the video!
So, still have a problem with learning? I bet
you don’t.
